The completion of this project was only possible with the support and collaboration of a large number of people.
Richard Light, artist and mathematician, has been my main collaborator since February 2007 when the idea first came to me as I was driving up the M6 from Preston. Richard's assistance made the completion of the project possible.
Cedric Robinson, Guide to the Sands, provided essential knowledge and advice and, during the dig itself, kept everybody reassured and safe, as well as contributing to the digging out of approximately 30 tons of wet sand.
FRED organiser, Helen Fletcher was part of the FRED team who provided essential organisational support, publicity and advice on funding, as well as digging on the day.
Hannah Stewart filmed the whole process of marking out, digging, flooding and revelation, as well as coming down from the cliff and digging when it looked like we weren't going to finish before the flood tide.
Diggers who volunteered and came and worked hard throughout the morning included: Phil Chandler, Richard Cress, Chloe Crossley, Paul East, Rose East, Mike Eden, Rob Fraser, Phil Gordon, Heather, Andy Mortimer, Nick and Hugh Taylor.
Richard Simpson, documentary film maker, recorded interviews and reactions to the circle as it emerged from the estuarine water.
